Links Page
This page contains general links to sites that I personally read and recommend to others. If you're interested in what I have to say, good odds that you'll like what you find on at least some of these sites. I'll be adding to the list as time goes on, and may at some point introduce a little more organization. Note that these sites are listed in no particular order.
- UNIX as IDE
This is a series of articles by Tom Ryder, on his site Arabesque. It covers the use of the UNIX shell to perform many development tasks, with the overall intent of replacing an all-in-one IDE with the command line itself. These articles were very formative for me when I first stumbled across them as an undergrad. The rest of his blog is very good too--it covers the same general topics, programming, UNIX, etc.
- Brilliant Sugar
This is a very new blog--with only one post on it, in fact! But it is an exceedingly good one, on C++ atomics, and I hope that the author continues to write. I'll certainly be keeping on eye on this blog for the foreseeable future.
- Dan's Web Tips
One of the first sites I wandered onto after deciding to learn HTML and move away from Hugo for creating web sites. Dan's site is very old, but that's just fine by me. A very good collection of both technical discussions and normative statements about effective web site design and creation.
- Chris Noxz
Another fairly technical site; Chris has a number of very interesting articles covering topics as diverse as the counter-capitalist origins of hacking culture, using groff, and dealing with websites misbehaving when certain browser features are disabled. Give his stuff a read--it's all incredibly interesting.
